Christmas Luncheon (December 2022)

Commissioners, Resident Advisory Board, employees, and guests gathered to enjoy great food and fellowship during the 2022 Christmas Luncheon. Many were recognized for various achievements, an update was provided on 2022 accomplishments, and we all shared many laughs during Dirty Santa.

On July 17, 2019, the Auburn Housing Authority hosted a tour of the Job Core in Montgomery, AL.

Juneteenth Celebration (June 2022)

The Auburn Housing Authority participated in the Annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 18, 2022. The event was held at Martin Luther King Park in Auburn, AL. The event included great food and fellowship, historical presentations, and entertainment. The event also included recognizing Unsung Heroes, which included one of AHA's own, AJ Harris, Public Relations and Compliance Director.

Lee County Literacy Coalition Pop-Up Library in Ridgecrest (September 2022)

Lee County Literacy Coalition (LCLC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing adult literacy programs at no cost to the community. LCLC offers one-to-one tutoring, Family Literacy, ESL Book Club, Financial Literacy workshops, Digital & Workplace Literacy workshops, Health literacy workshops, and much more. Austin Pearson of LCLC gave a presentation to the AHA Team on the importance of identifying literacy needs and tips for dealing with literacy needs. LCLC provided AHA with a Pop-Up Library stationed in the Ridgecrest Admin Office. The Pop-Up Library is stocked with books for all ages. The books are free and can be kept or returned. AHA appreciates LCLC for its partnership and its service to the community. For more information about LCLC, visit their website leecountyliteracy.org.

LHA Holiday Farmers Market (Dec 2021)

To assist families during the Christmas holidays, LHA partnered with the Food Bank to sponsor an onsite Farmer's Market on December 21st that provided fresh produce to 63 families.

LHA Tailgate Event (September 2022)

LaFayette Housing Authority (LHA) hosted a Tailgate Party to celebrate the Lafayette High School Football Season. The LHA Tailgate included games, food, and snacks. We thank all the residents and community that came out to celebrate with us.

National Night Out (NNO) 2019

The Auburn Police Division (APD) and the Auburn Housing Authority hosted its annual National Night Out (NNO) event on Thursday, October 10th. The event was held at the Ridgecrest community. Over twenty organizations were present to offer information about their resources. The event also included door prizes, food and entertainment.

This week, our agencies partnered with East Alabama Medical Center to host multiple Pfizer vaccination clinics for our staff, residents, and anyone age 16+ in the local community! We're happy to help get this pandemic behind us!

RHA Tailgate Event (September 2022)

Roanoke Housing Authority (RHA) hosted a Tailgate Event to celebrate the Handley High School Football Season. The RHA Tailgate included games, food, and snacks. We thank all the residents and community that came out to celebrate with us. We want to thank RHA Commissioner Sarah Nunn, RHA Commissioner Scot Thomason, RHA Board Chairperson Paula Lambert, Roanoke Police Chief Jonathan Caldwell and Lieutenant Mark Farmer, and Roanoke City Councilwoman Tammi Holley for attending. We want to thank Corner One (ESSO Gas Station – Mr. John Glass), WM Grocery (Mr. Mike Parmer), Taco Bell (Ms. Tanektua Weaver), and Walmart Corporation (Store #10863) for their donations toward the success of the RHA Tailgate Event.

Sparkman Movie Night (Aug 2021)

Sparkman Community youth participated in an outdoor movie night in October, courtesy of the Lee County Democratic Club. Youth played games and brought their blankets to watch Jumanji: The Next Level on the big outdoor screen.

Summer Feeding and Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Voter Registration Drive (Oct 2020)

AHA Residents were given the opportunity to register to vote, request an absentee ballot, pick up a sample ballot, and receive other voter information at AHA community sites in advance of the November election.
