About AHA Housing
The AHA manages 304 PBV units (formerly known as public housing). The units are subsidized by HUD for low-income families and individuals. PBV units offer low-income families and individuals the opportunity to rent an affordable apartment that is decent and sanitary. Under this program, the tenants can expect to pay about 30% to 40% of their monthly income towards their rent. As a tenant, you will be responsible for the payment of your power usage; cable (if a tenant chooses to have it) is also paid by the tenant. Tenants will also be assessed a charge for garbage collection. A utility allowance is calculated for all tenant paid utilities.
